The PLEXICLICK® V2 is a frameless number plate holder made up of two clips per plate. The clips are screwed to your car, then you place the number plate in at the bottom and push it upwards until it audibly clicks into place – hence the name. From the front, all you see is the number plate itself: no surround, no dealer advertising. This version is designed for plates in the German 110 mm format. What matters for the fit is the actual measured outer height of the plate: it must be 112–113 mm.

Frameless, invisible, advert-free – the difference

Conventional number plate surrounds frame your plate and usually carry the dealer's branding. The PLEXICLICK® V2, on the other hand, disappears behind the plate. Unlike Velcro or magnetic holders, the clips are screwed firmly in place – nothing slips, nothing comes loose.

  • Frameless: no surround, nothing to spoil the look of the front or rear
  • Advert-free: no third-party branding on your car
  • Also fits short plates: the clips can be positioned freely
  • No drilling: uses the existing mounting points on your car
  • Shatter-resistant polycarbonate: stable, durable, impact-resistant
  • Made in Germany: developed and manufactured in Germany

Fit: for number plates with a measured outer height of 112–113 mm

This version of the PLEXICLICK® V2 fits aluminium number plates in the 110 mm format with an actual measured outer height of 112–113 mm. The official format for standard plates in Germany is 520 × 110 mm. Because the clips are positioned individually, the holder also works with short plates.

Not sure? Measure the full outer height of your plate in several places with a ruler or tape measure – or take a look at the size guide.

Fitted in minutes – no drilling

All you need is a standard Phillips screwdriver. An illustrated fitting guide is included with every set.

  1. Remove your old number plate holder and clean the mounting surface.
  2. Screw the PLEXICLICK® clips to your car using the screws supplied – via the existing mounting points, set closer together for short plates.
  3. Optional: stick the anti-rattle pads onto the centre block – this reduces rattling and rub marks.
  4. Place the plate in at the bottom and click it in at the top – the audible click tells you it is securely in place.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check whether my plate is 112 or 113 mm high?

Measure the full outer height of the plate with a ruler or tape measure in several places – not the height of the characters or the black border. The plate must be undamaged and not bent, otherwise the measurement won't be reliable.

Do I need to drill any holes?

No. The PLEXICLICK® V2 is screwed on using the mounting points already on your car. No extra holes are needed.

Does the PLEXICLICK® V2 fit short plates?

Yes. Because the clips are positioned individually, they can be adjusted to the width of your plate – including short plates. What matters is the actual measured plate height (outer height) of 112–113 mm.

How do I remove the plate again?

Press the top clips back one after the other with both thumbs while pushing the plate forwards. This releases the plate without having to remove the holder itself.

Is one set enough for two plates?

Yes. The set with 4 clips is designed for fitting two number plates – front and rear.

My plate is supposed to be 110 mm high, but I measure 112 mm. Which is right?

110 mm is the official height of the German standard plate format 520 × 110 mm. For the fit of the holder, the actual measured outer height of the plate is what counts: the PLEXICLICK® V2 fits plates measuring 112–113 mm. Measure the full plate height in several places.
